Safety is the number one priority at our company and we are seeking an experience and qualified professional to join the team as the HSE Advisor. This is a far reaching role and covers sites all over Australia and as such can be based at either at Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airports. As our employees are located at various locations across Australia and cover not just Aviation but other industries, we are seeking a diverse Health and Safety Advisor who can provide advice and assistance on matters relating to OHS.

Reporting to the Group Health and Safety Manager you will be responsible for a number of key projects and initiatives that will promote a healthy and positive safety culture along with ensuring that health and safety and compliance are adhered to.

To be successful in this role you will need demonstrated and proven experience in working within a diverse and multi-functional company and have a thorough understanding and knowledge OHS requirements

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assist our project teams with the development of tenders and WHSE requirements
  • Coach and mentor our Project team members in WH&S responsibilities across Australia, NZ & Malaysia.
  • Leading and strongly influencing WHSE for projects.
  • Actively participate in project review meetings and drive WH&S.
  • Undertake site visits that include audits, investigation and risk assessments.
  • Facilitate and undertake training for employees and management
  • Provide reporting and WH&S documentation for internal and client requirements.
  • Assisting the Group WHSE Manager on WHSE matters

Key skills to be considered for this role include the following:

  • Current and proven experience within a Health and Safety Advisor role in either Projects, Aviation, Transport or Logistics environment is essential.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of the Australian Workplace health and safety legislation, regulations and codes of practices.
  • Prepare and distribute HSE reports
  • Assist and participate in safety audits
  • Highly developed interpersonal along with verbal and written communication skills is essential
  • Expertise in the MS Suite of productions i.e. excel, word and powerpoint
  • Experience within a unionised environment would be advantageous.
  • Tertiary qualification's in the area of Health, Safety, Risk and OHS is highly desirable.
  • Diploma in OH&S or Certificate 4 Safety and Environment is essential.
  • Certificate IV in Training, Assessing and Auditing is highly desirable.
