Building Services Manager

As a result of a restructure, the Stratford District Council is seeking a Building Services Manager to oversee Council's responsibilities under the Building Act, with emphasis on maintaining Council's accreditation as a Building Control Authority. This position will be the professional 'standard' setter to lead the building services team in the effective and consistent application of building regulation.
This is a permanent full-time position and includes:
- Supervision and support of staff.
- Assignment and management of building consents.
- Management of external contractors.
- Technical Leadership of building categories that are common to Stratford District
- Ensuring legislative changes are implemented and statutory compliance maintained at all times.
- Management of compliance notices and enforcement notices.
The successful applicant will ideally have trade experience and at least three years' experience in a technical leadership role within a building control authority or equivalent organisation. A broad working knowledge of all the relevant statutes and regulations pertaining to the functions of a building control service provider is essential.
