Building Control Officer (x2)

As a result of a restructure, the Stratford District Council is seeking two Building Control Officers to be responsible for all aspects of processing building consent applications and other Building Act responsibilities.

These are both permanent full-time positions and include:

• Ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Completion of inspections and/or enforcement actions.
• Completion of Building Control responsibilities in processing of Land Information Memoranda.
• Positive engagement with customers.

The successful applicant will ideally have a trade certificate and sound knowledge of the Building Act and NZ Building Code. They will enjoy dealing with people and being out in the field while being confident with computer work. Previous experience within a Local Government Authority or Building Control Authority would be an advantage but not essential.
