Stepping Stone Trust (SST) is a faith-based organisation and one of the largest Mental Health services in Canterbury. SST operates Residential, Respite, and Community Support Services for Youth through to Older Persons for 500+ Tangata Whaiora/consumers each week.

Our Mobile Residential Service delivers intensive mobile in-home support to people who experience mental distress. The goal of this service is to ensure the safety and well-being of the SST residential service users, allowing them to live in their own homes with the least amount of restriction and the highest level of social inclusion in the community possible. Clients that use these services need ongoing support with managing their mental health. These roles contribute to recovery by ensuring that client needs are met in their own homes, with daily support provided.
You may have experience working with vulnerable people in a community or residential setting. These roles require excellent people engagement, good verbal and written communication skills, along with sound time management and the ability to prioritise tasks. Our staff are well-skilled, passionate, and committed; this would be a great fit for someone wanting to consolidate and build on learning around Mental Health.
The scope of the roles ranges from client engagement to assisting in household tasks. Understanding of Health & Safety and Infection Control principles is essential.
- full clean driver's license
- good computer literacy
- current comprehensive/Level 2 first aid certification
- L4 Mental Health qualification or equivalent
