About your new role:

In this pivotal hands on role, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous production operation by scheduling and completing the maintenance and repair of our machines and equipment ensuring their optimal functionality and minimising downtime. You will also be involved in undertaking improvements to the equipment as part of our continuous improvement activities, troubleshooting mechanical issues and adhering to safety protocols. This is a diverse role is a key part of the Operations Leadership team and will provide support, mentorship and directly manage our Maintenance Fitter Assistant.

Your days will include:

  • Performing routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components
  • Liaising with suppliers and other companies on the use of spare parts and tooling
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities

You will bring:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter within a factory environment
  • NZ Trade qualified fitter/turner or toolmaker (or NZQA recognised qualifications) or can demonstrate proven experience in this environment
  • Proficiency in mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and precision
  • Welding experience along with experience in pneumatics
  • Experience in hydraulics and electrical fault finding would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team
  • Be solution focused, organised and demonstrate strong problem solving skills
