Leading Hand Excavator Operator

We have a great opportunity for you to join our team based out of our Alexandra Depot covering projects across the Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes region.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a growing business with a secure employer who wants to invest in their staff and develop their potential but also respects the need for a life outside of work. Hours of work are generally Monday to Friday with weekend work a rarity. You will gain exposure to a variety of projects or be part of larger projects and will be provided the opportunity to develop your skills and leadership capabilities.

You will be a proficient operator of an excavator and will be the main operator of this machine. As part of this role there will be times when you are required to operate other items of plant and carry out other duties as the work requires.

You will have, and can demonstrate:

  • Proficient operator of predominantly 5.5tn and 15tn excavators, but other sizes at times.
  • Ability to work productively without direct supervision, and lead a small team on site
  • Class 4 licence preferred with W, T and R endorsements (training can be provided for the right candidate)
  • Delivery of contract specifications to a high standard
  • A positive attitude and work ethic
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
