Three Waters Operational Engineer

Join our team and lead the charge in providing senior technical expertise and engineering advice for our Three Waters Operations. You'll play a pivotal role in developing and implementing policies for water safety programs, managing the backflow program, and overseeing capital renewal and upgrades.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Providing expert technical engineering advice and support for Three Waters Operations.
  • Designing water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
  • Planning, programming, and coordinating projects, ensuring thorough documentation and handover.
  • Leading the development and implementation of the Backflow Policy, engaging with stakeholders and ensuring compliance.
  • Managing and coordinating the backflow program, including education and training initiatives.
  • Providing advice to the public and community interest groups on water safety matters.
  • Negotiating and administering contracts, ensuring compliance and quality assurance.
  • Monitoring contractor performance and consulting as needed to ensure project success.
  • Implementing robust risk management practices to ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Ensuring health and safety considerations are integrated into all processes and designs.
  • Acting as Manager - Three Waters Operations when required, providing mentorship and support, and contribute to financial activities and budgets, preparing reports as needed.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil Engineering) Level 7 or similar.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Civil Engineering, with a focus on three waters maintenance and construction.
  • Demonstrated electrical mechanical experience and design expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management and relevant legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
