About the Role - STDC are embarking on a journey to introduce an upgraded ERP system. The purpose of this position is to support the Finance Team while other staff are seconded to ERP-related tasks. This will be achieved by maintaining the General Ledger and Council Reserves, and assisting with our Treasury Function, Long-Term Investment Fund, and Financial Planning, Budgeting and Reporting.

Do you have what it takes? - This is a busy role and if you want plenty of variety, this role has it from assisting the Senior Finance Team with preparation of the Long-Term Plan, Annual Plan and Annual Report, and assisting with monthly processes for monthly and quarterly reports and budgeting processes. In addition, you will assist with monthly treasury journals and bonds, record and maintain movements related to subsidy and any other funding of Council's Long-Term Investment Fund within the General Ledger and provide internal assistance on Council insurance policies. Reviewing programmes and activities and ensuring constant improvement in service performance is also a requirement of this role as is assisting with ensuring compliance with Local Government Act and Local Government Rating Act, Tax Laws, and Different Accounting Standards.

About You - You are a talented team player with a university degree in finance or has experience in a relevant field. You will have knowledge of financial systems and operations, relevant legislation and taxation requirements, an excellent standard of customer service and ideally experience in local government. A positive attitude, great people skills, a willingness to work in a busy team environment and a sound ability with written and oral communication is also required.
