Project Manager - Solid Waste

(Fixed-Term Part-time (6 Month Contract))

About the Role - The purpose of this job is to plan and implement the rollout of the new Solid Waste service on 1 October 2024. This is a part time role with a 6-month tenure. The role is responsible for working with key stakeholders and internal staff to progress the project through to successful implementation and operations.

Do you have what it takes? - We are looking for someone who has proven project management skills, who can plan and implement the rollout of the new solid waste services. You will be working with the contractor to ensure a smooth transition in the change of services for our communities and provide expert input into development of public awareness programmes. This position is temporary and will require proactive management of data, ensure the contractor is compliant and provide solutions to any issues arising from the change of services. A full clean driver's licence is essential. Your typical work environment will be working closely with the Solid Waste Officer and reporting to the Network Team Leader on regular updates on the progress of the rollout, providing reports and data as required.

About You - As you will be working with people from all walks of life, you will recognise and value the benefits of the diversity of people, ideas and cultures. You will be an independent worker and be able to meet all agreed deadlines and standards and have a high attention to detail. As this position may require some after hours and weekend work to implement public awareness campaigns, you will be flexible in your work hours. You will also have a minimum of a Graduate Diploma in Project Management and have at least 5 years of project management experience. Experience in the Solid Waste field would be an advantage as would be your knowledge of Local Government and the Resource Management Act 1991.

The salary range for this position is between $75,600pa and $84,000pa pro-rata and the appointed starting level will be dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed during interviews with shortlisted candidates.
