Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
This is a pivotal role reporting to the Manager of Resource Consents. You will play a crucial role in supporting our strategic direction through efficient management and development of subdivision and land use projects. This includes overseeing transportation, water, wastewater, and storm water infrastructure to ensure compliance with regulations and to meet the evolving needs of our community. At WDC, we are dedicated to building and strengthening relationships with Iwi, Hapū, and Whānau within our district.

You will have:
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Proven influencing skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Good knowledge of the Resource Management Act
- A good understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and its implications for Council.
You will be solution focused with a commitment to continuous improvement. You'll hold relevant qualifications (e.g., New Zealand Certificate in Drainage, NZCE), and have at least five years' experience in construction related to transport and three waters infrastructure. Tertiary education in BE (Civil or Environmental) Engineering or MEngNZ, or construction management, is preferable.
